Through close partnerships with communities across Arnhem Land and the Tiwi Islands, we deliver programs that empower individuals to build meaningful lives.
We are seeking Support Workers to join our team in Nhulunbuy, working with female and male participants in our program. We believe that lived experience is just as valuable as formal qualifications, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and passions. Our support workers come from diverse walks of life, bringing unique perspectives and skills that enrich the services we provide.
About the role
As a Support Worker, your role is to assist people with doing the things that mean something to them. At times this may mean getting innovative and creative! Your responsibilities include:
Provide individual support, including personal care, meal preparation, and daily living assistance
Facilitate community engagement activities, including cultural outings and social events
Assist with return-to-country initiatives and bush trips
Support clients in residential settings, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment
Work collaboratively with other stakeholders, including therapists and community organisations
Maintain accurate client records and follow Country Connect policies and procedures
Safely navigate remote areas, which may involve 4WD travel
What we’re looking for
A caring, client-focused approach with a commitment to choice and capacity building
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-cultural team
Aptitude for creating connection
Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
Lived experience in disability, caregiving, or community work is highly valued
Experience working in remote communities and cultural awareness (highly desirable)
4WD driving skills and confidence in off-road travel (highly desirable)
Experience in disability support, aged care, youth work, or community engagement (preferred)
Requirements
Valid NT Driver’s License
Working with Children Check (Ochre Card)
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
