Return to Country

Scientific research has unequivocally demonstrated the positive impact of preserving the connection of First Nations people to their country and culture on their overall wellbeing and health. Despite this evidence, many individuals face significant barriers in maintaining their presence on country. These barriers often involve the need to stay near medical services due to health conditions or the absence of logistical support for travel, among many other challenges.

In our pursuit of funding for Return to Country services, our team aims to mitigate barriers and assist individuals in reestablishing connections with their country and culture.

To date, our endeavours have effectively facilitated Return to Country trips for a multitude of reasons. We have supported individuals in attending funerals and other significant ceremonies in remote outstations and homelands across Arnhem Land and the Tiwi Islands. Furthermore, we've assisted clients in visiting family members and reigniting connections with their culture and country after prolonged stays in regional locations for medical treatment. Additionally, our initiatives have involved facilitating logistics that aided in the re-establishment and nurturing of distant relationships, thereby positively influencing the wellbeing of young persons and their families.
