Youth Worker

Country Connect have a focus on providing supports that improve the health of an individual through emotional and social wellbeing. This means identifying, providing, and creating opportunities for people to stay connected to family, culture and country and to build a life that they truly value.

We firmly believe that every child should have access to opportunities that cater to their interests and positively impact their overall wellbeing. Whether it involves music, sports, or fostering a connection to community and country, our dedicated team is committed to providing support and guidance to help young people realise their fullest potential, opening up a realm of boundless possibilities.

This approach is delivering positive outcomes for our Territory’s youth, and we are building on this with a focused team of youth workers who will be dedicated solely to our most individualized programs for young people in the Territory with significant and complex behaviours, trauma and social challenges. This team will work in a holistic and highly person-centered way to create and deliver a service that is unique to the youth concerned.

This may include aspects such as nutrition, working with community to facilitate kinship connections, mobile bush camps, return to country trips, residential care, while also simply providing mentoring, and support to undertake everyday activities, build confidence and develop skills.

According to the individual’s needs you may also be required to support them in navigating the NDIS system, other relevant services, and possibly the judicial system.

Our program currently spans Milikapiti, Ramingining, Jabiru, East Arnhem homelands and Darwin. Fly in fly out from Sunshine Coast and surrounding 70km radius is also an option.
